Mercury 7

The first group of seven US astronauts, was selected by NASA in 1959 for the Mercury project. The "Mercury 7" astronauts were Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, John Glenn, Gus Grissom, Walter Schirra, Alan Shepard, and Donald Slayton.
