John Glenn: A Memoir

John Glenn was selected as one of the first seven US astronauts for Project Mercury. Glenn flew on Mercury 6 becoming the first American to orbit the earth.

In 1998, Glenn became the oldest person to orbit the earth when he flew on STS-95.
