Daniel Guggenheim

Daniel Guggenheim was born on July 9, 1856. He died on September 28, 1930. After World War I, Daniel and his son, Harry Guggenheim, were avid supporters of aviation technology. They established the Daniel Guggenheim Medal for Achievement in Aeronautics and provided grants for aeronautics research. Guggenheim supported Robert Goddard's rocketry experiments.
