Charles Lindbergh

Charles Lindbergh flew the first solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic ocean in 1927.

Lindbergh supported rocket pioneer Robert Goddard, helping Goddard secure an endowment from Daniel Guggenheim. In December of 1968, he visited the crew of Apollo 8 the day before they began their historic flight. He attended the launch of Apollo 11 and wrote the foreword of Carrying the Fire by Michael Collins.
