R.O.C.K.'s August, 2007, Launch

The August Rocketry of Orlando's Community Kids rocket launch took place on a hot clear day. But the rain from a few days before turned the launch site into a muddy mess.

Prepping

We welcome several new faces to the launch. And we warned them to avoid falling in one of the knee-deep puddles. Wild boar prowl our launch site when we aren't there, digging up the ground in search of food. The rain turned these ruts into small muddy lakes.

Fortunately, we only lost one small rocket in a puddle, but it was later found and returned, just slightly soggy, to its owner.

Dramatic Ejection Charge
