Boeing Company

Boeing is the world's largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft. Boeing employs more than 155,000 people in more than 65 countries.

Boeing was started in Seattle, Washington by William E. Boeing in the early 1900s. Boeing built the "Clipper" flying boats used by Pan Am in the 1930s. The company built thousands of bombers - up to 350 in one month - during World War II. Boeing developed the US's first commercial jet airliner. Boeing's 747 passenger jet carries thousands of passengers every day.

Boeing was the first contractor for the International Space Station.
