Astron MarkBased on a design by G. Harry Stine, the Astron Mark (K-2) was the second rocket kit marketed by Estes.
An Astron Mark was the first rocket kit built by Jay Apt who was, at the time, 13 years old. Many years later, on April 5, 1991, Apt flew into space aboard STS-37. Apt carried with him a couple of model rockets including an Astron Mark. References: |
