Ammonium Perchlorate Composite PropellantAmmonium Perchlorate Composite Propellant (APCP) is used in the Space Shuttle's Solid Rocket Boosters. It's also used in most mid-power and high-power sport rocketry motors.
APCP consists of an oxidizer, ammonium perchlorate (NH4ClO4), combined with a polymer as the fuel. The polymer also servers as a binder.
