Aerojet

Aerojet began in 1942 as Aerojet Engineering. In a partnership with General Tire, Aerojet developed a new solid rocket fuel design based on a rubber binding agent.

In the late 1940s, AeroJet developed the Aerobee sounding rocket. Variants of the Aerobee where produced and launched until 1985.

Aerojet developed the engines for the Apollo Service Module and thrusters for the Space Shuttle.
